Upspill is a Dublin-based dance initiative creating opportunities for artists, participants, and audiences to engage with contemporary dance and creative movement.
Through performance, educational programmes, and community-based projects, Upspill collaborates with artists, organisations, and local communities to create spaces for play, experimentation, and creative exchange.
Founder, Artistic DirectorHannie is a Dublin-based transdisciplinary artist and educator working across dance, theatre, digital, and visual art. Her work has been presented and supported by Peridance Legacy (NYC), Arts on Site (NYC), LA Showbox (LA), Dance Ireland (Dublin), amongst other venues. Hannie has collaborated and toured with a range of artists and projects, notably: Amirov Dance Theater, Beth Soll & Company and the 92nd NY Opera Series.
Hannie holds an M.F.A. in Experimental Choreography from the University of California, Riverside, a Certificate in Clown from The Clown School and a B.F.A. (Hons) in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts.
Resident DirectorSatchel Henneman (b.1995) is a composer and virtuoso guitarist from the Pacific Northwest currently living in Dublin. He has written for Crash Ensemble, Nathan Sherman and Alex Petcu, Lori Goldston, Pacific Rim Percussion Quartet, and Ensemble Urbain. His works have been featured in concerts, films and installations across North America and Europe.
Satchel has received degrees from University College Dublin (Mmus ‘26) the Yale School of Music (MM ‘20) and Cornish College of the Arts (BM ‘17) and has guest lectured at the Yale School of Architecture, The New School, and Pace University.
